They should never have let a dog be a blogger. I'm way too busy with so many other things - who has time to sit down at a computer? As you can see, I only post once every few years or so. Anyway, here I am on my sixth birthday, with a great new toy that Ellen gave me. He's a yellow and orange starfish. I call him Starry, and I love to jump into the lake to fetch him after Ellen throws him as far as she can. I'm a good strong swimmer. The best part is rolling around in the grass afterwards to dry off a little.
Can you believe I'm six years old already? Ellen says I'm getting to be a very good dog. She says I'm more "mature," whatever that means, and that I sometimes even come when she calls me. All I know is that I have the best life ever for a dog. I get to swim, bike, ski, run, chase squirrels, and - at the end of the day - sleep on a nice, soft bed. What more could any dog want?

 Well, maybe a dog could want a new toy once in a while. Some friends of Ellen's gave this raccoon to me. I love Raccoony!

 This is my new backyard, behind the house that Ellen moved into recently. Pretty nice, eh?

And here I am modeling my new sweatshirt. How do you like the look?

 I got sick a while ago and had to go to the vet - that was not so fun...But I'm all better now and back to chasing squirrels.
Soon it will be winter, and I'll be playing in the snow. Can't wait!

It's March, and here in Vermont that means it's maple sugaring time! I love to run around on the crusty snow while Ellen taps the maple trees and hangs buckets to catch the sap. Later, after the sap has been boiled down into maple syrup, maybe I'll get to taste some!

Wheee! Ellen and I went skijoring the other day and it was SO MUCH FUN! I really love to pull her along a snowy trail. This trail is mostly used by snowmobiles (they scare me a little, but I'm happy to share).

I just love fall! Ellen and I have been doing lots of hiking. There are so many exciting smells out there at this time of year, and so much to see. Vermont is definitely my favorite state (not that I've ever been to any other state...).

What do I have to do to get a belly rub around here???

Yippee! Spring is finally here. I'm very, very busy chasing squirrels, but I took some time out  for my first swim of the season.

Hurray for Christmas! It's my favorite holiday. Happy New Year, everyone!

Happy holidays, everyone! I'm so glad we had a big snowstorm a few days ago. Now I get to go skiing with Ellen! (Well, she's on skis. I'm just dashing through the snow. But it's SO MUCH FUN!)

Happy fall! I was so busy all summer running around, swimming, and checking my "projects" (like the hole I am digging in the back yard) that I forgot to post for a while. Now I'm enjoying the cooler weather. I love to walk through the rustly leaves and sniff all the great new fall smells.

Ellen always said she knew I would be a good swimmer, but I wasn't so sure. It was scary at first - especially when all four of my feet were off the ground and I had to figure out how to stay afloat! I stuck with it, and now I love it, especially when Ellen throws a special toy or a really good stick for me to fetch.

Sorry I haven't written in so long! I've been pretty busy chasing chipmunks. But guess what? I just turned one year old! Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday dear Zipper, happy birthday to me!

Spring is full new sights and sounds and (especially!) smells. Since this is the very first spring I have been alive, I've been very busy checking everything out. This creature was in the yard the other day. I barked at it because I was hoping to play, but all it did was pull its head inside its house!

Spring is here! You might wonder why I'm wearing an orange coat when it's not hunting season. Ellen says it's because it makes me easier to see when I'm dashing through the woods. You can see how I would kind of blend in here, without the coat, so I guess she's right.

Agility class is so much fun! My favorite thing to do is the tunnel. Last time I took class I was a little scared of it, but this time I just gallop right through.

Am I cute, or what???

Yahoo! Look out world, here I come. My foot is almost healed (I got my stitches out yesterday), just in time for a snowstorm. Whee!

Poor me! I got a cut on my foot and had to go to the vet to get stitches. It doesn't really hurt, but the worst part is that I can't run around for 10 whole days!
